Background information
Omega 3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids. The best known are alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and the fish fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).
ALA is found in vegetable oils, especially flaxseed oil. It is also found somewhat in meat and green leafy vegetables.
EPA and DHA are mainly found in fish and seafood. Oily fish such as mackerel, salmon, herring, sardines and trout are important sources. White (lean) fish also contain fish fatty acids, but less than the fatty fish species.
Vitamin D3 is a very important vitamin because only vitamin D3 meets the natural form of our human organism. Several recent scientific studies have found that deficiency of this vitamin can cause a huge amount of serious health problems. More and more people are suffering from this deficiency especially in Europe and North America.
