| Warning | Do not use if taking DPP-IV inhibitors for the treatment of type 2 diabetes because DPP-IV inhibitors disable the action of DPP-IV. Other drug and natural product interactions are possible. Consult your doctor or an expert before taking supplements in case of doubt, medication use and illness.
Deficient DPP-IV enzyme function results in exorphin accumulation. DPP-IV Optimum® Gold results in an accelerated breakdown of exorphins. As a result, withdrawal symptoms and/or intestinal flora changes may occur. Exorphins are opiates from food that can cause habituation. The withdrawal symptoms vary from person to person. If these withdrawal symptoms persist for more than three days, we recommend not taking DPP-IV enzyme for at least one week. After that, you can take one capsule again. If the withdrawal symptoms occur again, we advise you to stop using this product.
